On June 9, 2023, someone I didn’t like very much introduced me to MidJourney on Discord. If you’re not familiar, it’s an AI system that generates pictures based on text. I was intrigued, and immediately pulled up my mostly-unused Discord app and gave it a try.

My first prompt: A rat terrier named Harley.
Shocking, I know.
Over the next few days, I played with it a bit, with a few more pics generated each day. Soon, I was averaging 200+ images a day. Not for anything other than the fun of seeing them.
You see, I have mild aphantasia, a very limited ability to visualize things, especially imaginary things. I also have a deep love of art and fantasy, which makes this particular limitation really frustrating.
With MidJourney, I could finally put pictures to the ideas bouncing around in my head. It was like being blind all my life and suddenly being given sight. I went a little crazy, even waking up in the middle of the night just to try some more pics.
Then I really got serious. See, I’m not just a writer, artist, and crafter, I’m also a coder, and I figured out how to semi-automate the process and I weaponized whimsy.
Without really meaning to, and through no fault of my own, I ended up with over 430,000 images. Yeah, it’s a lot. Trust me, my hard drive agrees with you.
I started selling images on Etsy, but that’s just a few pics at a time, and it’s painful and not very profitable.
One day I said, why don’t I just package up 10,000 images and sell those?
It sounds like a lot, and it is, trust me, but it’s still less than 1/43 of my pictures, and I’m not done creating.
That’s when the Chaos Library was born. Since then, I’ve uploaded that core vault and thousands of other images for people to download and enjoy.
I gave away 500 free pics to anyone who stopped by, just because it’s easier than creating a great PhotoShop sampler. I’m giving 25+ pics away to anyone who joins as a free member. The core vault costs only a bit – at most $15 a month, and that is on top of thousands of new pics a month.
This may seem big, but trust me, it’s only Phase 1. Wait until you see Phase 2.
If you like art (or just like and want to support me) go join. You can pay nothing or as little as $5 a month, and I’ll be just as happy. This is going to get big. Don’t you want to be there for the full ride? I promise a bit of Harley at every step.
I’m so happy someone got you started because, as you know, I’m a huge fan!
